Dr. Samson Yemane Hadush is a post-doctoral researcher at the Energy Centre of Vlerick Business School, based in Brussels. His work focuses on the policy, regulatory, social and business dimensions of the energy sector. He obtained a PhD from the electrical engineering department of KU Leuven in Belgium. In 2007, he was awarded the Erasmus Mundus scholarship to study Economics and Management of Network Industries, a joint master program offered by the University of Comillas in Spain, TU Delft in the Netherlands and Paris Sud XI in France. He served as a research assistant at the Florence School of Regulation in Italy. He remains active at Mekelle University in Ethiopia, where he did his undergraduate studies. He is a member of the International Association for Energy Economics, African Renewable Energy Alliance & the expert board of the African Diaspora Network in Europe. Dr. Hadush is very passionate about renewable energy and actively follows the developments in the African energy sector and the ‘sustainable energy for all’ movement. Currently, he is leading the activities of the Energy Centre of Vlerick Business School and the African Diaspora Network in Europe on renewable energy for Africa.
