Professor Manasse Mbonye is the current Director General of Rwanda’s National Council for Science and Technology (NCST). He is also current President of the Rwanda Academy of Sciences (RAS), and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Rwanda Energy Group (REG). By Training, Professor Mbonye is an Astrophysicist. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, in 1996. He taught Physics at various institutions including the University of Michigan, and RIT. He also worked with NASA (Goddard) as a researcher. Professor Mbonye’s recent appointments included, Acting Rector, National University of Rwanda, and Principal, UR-College of Science and Technology.
